God will occasionally call you and me to apparently insurmountable tasks in our lives. Perhaps it's taking on a leadership role for which we are unprepared. Perhaps it's raising a child with special needs. God frequently calls us to positions or duties that are beyond our capabilities. Feelings of inadequacy can overwhelm you at those times. However, we must remember that God empowers us to perform what He has called us to do. He empowers us with the Holy Spirit, just as Samuel anointed David with oil to signify the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. Jesus promised to send an advocate to assist us in all areas of life. Even when the task seems insurmountable, we can trust His promise.
